The India Post has released a notification for the recruitment of 30,041 Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmasters (BPMs), and Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPMs) in 23 circles across India. The online application process started on August 3, 2023 and closed on August 23, 2023.
GDS Post Office Recruitment 2023
The eligibility criteria for the GDS post are:
- The candidate should have passed the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) with Mathematics and English.
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate should have completed 18 years of age and should not have attained the age of 40 years on the closing date of the application.
Branch Postmasters And Assistant Branch Postmasters Recruitment 2023
The eligibility criteria for the BPM and ABPM posts are:
- The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (12th standard) with Mathematics and English.
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate should have completed 18 years of age and should not have attained the age of 45 years on the closing date of the application.
Post Office Recruitment 2023 Selection Criteria
The selection of candidates will be based on their marks in the 10th standard. The merit list will be prepared in the order of marks obtained by the candidates.
The application fee for the GDS post is INR 100 for general category candidates and INR 50 for SC/ST/PWD candidates. The application fee for the BPM and ABPM posts is INR 150 for general category candidates and INR 75 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Post Office Recruitment 2023 Exam Date
The admit cards for the GDS post will be released on September 6, 2023. The exam for the GDS post will be held on September 10, 2023. The admit cards for the BPM and ABPM posts will be released on September 13, 2023. The exam for the BPM and ABPM posts will be held on September 17, 2023.
Post Office Recruitment 2023 Result
The result for the GDS post will be announced on October 1, 2023. The result for the BPM and ABPM posts will be announced on October 5, 2023.
The joining date for the GDS post will be on or after November 1, 2023. The joining date for the BPM and ABPM posts will be on or after November 5, 2023.
